Light Hearted

What fear, pain and sorrow
Has the rich man seen?
None, but that of his own.
And that, to the poor man
Is happiness, not sorrow.

What glamour, wealth and power
Has the poor man seen?
None, for he has none.
Yet he cherishes what he lives with
And works, not cries, for more.

Darkness must be seen by one
To appreciate true light,
Yet darkness is, quite simply,
The absence of this light.
